Pure and Lawful

The Apostle Paul tells us that "to the pure all things are pure." He also states that "all things are lawful, but not all things are profitable" and that we should not simply look out for our own interests but also "the interests of others."

What does that mean for us sexually?

Some Christians teach that oral sex and masturbation are sinful. If they are, what makes them sinful? Wouldn't they fall into the "all things" category?

Would oral sex simply become sinful when it is forced upon another? After all, we are to "do unto others as we would want done unto us." I don't think anyone truly wants to be forced or coerced into anything sexual.

Take a peak at the Song of Solomon, be honest with what you read and you will find that it is a celebration of touching, tasting, and enjoying sexual contact in a variety of ways! Some of those ways are called "sinful" by modern Bible teachers. It makes me wonder what Bible they are reading!

Any thoughts?

To the pure ALL things are pure! I was talking to a Christian gentleman a few days ago who was a bit stumbled at my beliefs regarding the Lord's Law of Love, and I thought I'd search the web for more on the subject. I know what I believe, but in trying to show others it helps to have a variety of resources, and boy was I amazed and what I found. There are so many folks in so many areas that the Lord opening their eyes. It remainds me of the the movie "Godspell", when John is blowing his trumpet and all these people form all walks of life come together at the fountain. I never read any of the books listed on your site. But what I'm seeing is thrilling. The Lord is setting his children free to really love Him and others the way He wants us to.
